ESSAY & APPLICATION STRATEGY
Strategic support for applications that feel clear, aligned, and compelling
We help students communicate their experiences with greater direction, coherence, and confidence across every part of the application process.
THIS ISN'T A WRITING WORKSHOP.
It's a thinking workshop that produces an essay.
Most students don't struggle because they can't write.
They struggle because they haven't yet discovered what makes them memorable.
OUR 5-PHASE PROCESS
STEP 1: DISCOVERY
Students complete our reflection work so we can truly understand how they think, what they notice, and what matters to them.
STEP 2: PERSONALIZED PREPARATION
We individually review every response, identify themes and patterns, create a personalized workbook, and prepare a facilitator guide before your student ever joins the cohort.
STEP 3: 2-HOUR LIVE COHORT
A high-impact, interactive session where we coach, question, and guide students to uncover ideas they didn’t realize they had.
STEP 4: STRATEGIC 1:1 COACHING
We review each draft together before your 1:1 to build a plan and make every minute focused, intentional, and transformative.
STEP 5: FINAL POLISH
Students receive ongoing feedback and a final polish that is ready to copy and paste into the Common Application.
THE WORK YOU NEVER SEE:
Every reflection is reviewed individually by both Jennifer and Heather.
We meet together to discuss each student before the Cohort begins.
We create individualized facilitator guides (often, 5-6 pages) for each student prior to the Cohort.
We prepare coaching questions that are specific to each student and anticipate roadblocks to their thinking.
We show up knowing your student in order to help them go deeper in their thought process without delay.
WHAT MAKES LAUNCHPOINT DIFFERENT:
WE START WITH THINKING: Most essay services start with a blank page. We start by helping students
understand what makes them memorable.
WE SEE THE WHOLE STUDENT: We look for pattens, not just topics, to uncover what makes each student unique.
WE PREPARE BEFORE WE MEET: Our behind-the-scenes work means your student gets apersonalized experience from day one.
WE INVEST IN THE PROCESS: We don’t stop at the first draft. We guide students all the way to their best work.
TWO EDUCATORS, ONE STRATEGY: Every student benefits from two experienced educators collaborating behind
the scenes, not just one person's feedback.
CHOOSE YOUR JULY COHORT
Each cohort is limited to 6 students.
“LaunchPoint helped navigate both my daughter and my son through every step of the essay process for college. I loved the variety and depth of questions that my kids had to reflect on and answer thoughtfully. I was so impressed by the amount of time spent with my kids throughout the process and the personal investment that LaunchPoint made in both of them. I really feel that my son and daughter gained so much clarity, reflection, and confidence through this process and are excited and proud of their completed essays!”

Your Questions, Answered
-
Not always.
Many students benefit from starting with the Personal Statement Intensive to build clarity and direction. However, for students who have already begun or have a working draft, we’re happy to recommend the best starting point based on where they are in the process.
-
That’s completely fine.
The Personal Statement Intensive is designed for students who are starting from the beginning or feel unsure about what to write. It provides structure, direction, and a strong starting point.
-
That’s a great place to begin.
Students with an existing draft may benefit from either refining their narrative through the intensive or moving into more targeted support, depending on how developed their ideas are. We’ll help guide that decision.
-
As timelines become more compressed, support shifts to an expedited model based on availability.
We’ll always be transparent about what is realistic and what level of support we can provide within the remaining time.
-
Our work is a combination of small-group experiences and individualized support, depending on the offering.
We prioritize thoughtful guidance, clear feedback, and structured progress so students always know what they are working toward.
-
The best place to begin is by reaching out.
We’ll learn more about your student, answer any questions, and recommend a clear starting point based on where they are in the process.
START WITH A CONVERSATION
We work with a limited number of students so we can guide each one thoughtfully.
If you’re considering working with LaunchPoint, the best place to begin is a conversation.
We’ll learn more about your student, answer your questions, and recommend a clear starting point.
