Personal Statement Draft Review & Polish™ Service Agreement

By purchasing this service, the purchaser agrees to the following terms:

Scope of Service

The Personal Statement Draft Review & Polish™ is intended for a student who already has a complete, viable Common App personal statement draft.

The service includes:

  • Strategic review of one personal statement of up to 650 words

  • Feedback on story, structure, reflection, clarity, and authentic student voice

  • Specific revision recommendations

  • One 15-minute student consultation

  • Review and final polish of one revised draft

This service does not include topic development from the beginning, creation of a new essay, unlimited revisions, supplemental essays, application review, or additional meetings.

Student Authorship

The student must submit their own original work. LaunchPoint Consulting provides coaching, feedback, and editorial guidance but does not write or substantially rewrite an essay on the student’s behalf.

The student remains responsible for all final wording and must review and approve the essay before submitting it to any college or university.

Draft Eligibility

This service is designed for a complete draft with an identifiable central story and foundation. If the submitted draft requires substantial redevelopment or a new direction, LaunchPoint Consulting will notify the purchaser before proceeding and may recommend the Personal Statement Intensive™ or additional hourly support.

Any change in service or additional fee will require the purchaser’s approval.

Revisions and Additional Support

The service includes review of one revised draft following the initial feedback and consultation. Additional revisions, meetings, essays, or support outside the stated scope may be purchased at LaunchPoint Consulting’s current hourly rate.

A final polish addresses clarity, flow, grammar, word count, and sentence-level refinement. It does not include a new topic, major restructuring, or a complete rewrite after the revision has been submitted.

Student and Parent Responsibilities

The student agrees to:

  • Submit a complete draft and all requested intake information

  • Participate thoughtfully in the consultation and revision process

  • Complete revisions within the agreed-upon timeline

  • Communicate all relevant application deadlines before work begins

  • Review the final essay carefully before submission

LaunchPoint Consulting is not responsible for missed deadlines resulting from incomplete information, delayed student responses, or materials submitted too close to an application deadline.

Turnaround Time

Work begins after LaunchPoint Consulting receives the completed intake information and essay draft. The anticipated review timeline will be communicated after all required materials have been received.

Rush service is not guaranteed and, when available, may require an additional fee approved in advance.

Payment and Refunds

Payment is due in full at the time of purchase.

Because this service reserves professional review time, payment becomes nonrefundable once the student’s materials have been submitted and review has begun. Requests made before work begins will be considered individually.

If LaunchPoint Consulting determines that the submitted draft is not appropriate for this service, the purchaser may apply the payment toward a more comprehensive LaunchPoint service or request a refund before additional work begins.

No Admissions Guarantee

LaunchPoint Consulting provides educational consulting and editorial guidance. College admission decisions depend on many factors outside LaunchPoint Consulting’s control.

Purchase of this service does not guarantee admission, scholarship consideration, or any particular outcome.

Service Period

This service must be initiated within 60 days of purchase unless another arrangement is approved in writing. Services not initiated within that period may expire and are not automatically refundable.

Agreement

By completing this purchase, the purchaser confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. If the student is under 18, the purchaser confirms that they are the student’s parent or legal guardian or have authorization to purchase the service on the student’s behalf.
