Why "Just Send It" Is the Riskiest Advice a Senior Can Get Right Now

Your senior finished a draft. Everyone around them is saying the same thing: it's done, just submit it.

Here's the problem. "Done" and "ready" are not the same thing.

October 15 is closer than most families realize. A lot of Florida deadlines land there, not the November 1 date everyone assumes. That means seniors don't have as much runway left as they think, and the temptation to just hit submit gets stronger every day.

A finished draft usually still has real gaps:

• The essay reads fine, but doesn't actually sound like the student

• Activities are listed, but not described in a way that shows what they mean

• The Additional Information section is empty, when it shouldn't be

• Nothing in the application talks to anything else in the application

None of that shows up on a quick read-through. It shows up when someone reads it the way an admissions officer will: fast, once, and looking for a reason to remember the student.
