The goal of the first hour is not to finish the application.
It is to get comfortable inside the Common App, understand what it is asking for, and begin organizing the information your senior will need.
Some sections are straightforward. Others require decisions about what to include, what to leave out, and how to use limited space well.
The harder questions usually come after you get started.
Which activities should go first? What belongs in Additional Information? How should honors be presented? What should you report about testing? Those choices depend on the individual student.
“We can fill it out. We’re just not sure we’re making the right choices.”
That is where personalized Common App guidance can make a difference. You send us the student’s materials, such as a résumé or list of activities and honors, and we review what is actually there.
We review the student’s information, ask targeted clarification questions when needed, and prepare personalized recommendations for presenting the student clearly and accurately throughout the Common App.
You still complete the application. The difference is that you are no longer making every decision on your own.
Already much further along?
If the Common App is nearly finished and you mainly want experienced eyes on it before your senior hits Submit, start with the LaunchPoint Common App Quick Check. Jennifer and Heather review the Activities section, Personal Statement, and Additional Information if used, then tell you what is working, what may need attention, and the #1 thing to address before submitting.
