Keep this in perspective

GPA is important. It is also only one piece of the academic picture.

Once you understand which GPA you are looking at, the next questions are usually more useful: What courses is the student taking? How challenging is the schedule? What does the academic trajectory look like? And what choices make sense next?

Those answers will not be exactly the same for every student, even when the GPA is.

Do not chase a number without looking at the choices behind it. Course selection, level of challenge, academic strengths, goals, and available time all matter when deciding what comes next.
For families in grades 9–11

Now you know more about the GPA. The harder question is what your student should do with that information.

Should they increase course rigor? Protect balance? Change an academic pathway? Focus somewhere else entirely? That is where a generic GPA chart stops being enough.

The LaunchPoint Path™ · Grades 9–11

“We understand the numbers. We’re just not sure what our student should focus on next.”

LaunchPoint Path is personalized college-planning support for the year your student is in now. We look at the full picture rather than making recommendations from one GPA or one piece of the transcript.

We look at the student behind the numbers.

Jennifer and Heather review academics, interests, activities, goals, and available time before meeting with your family. We identify what deserves attention now, what can wait, and where your student’s limited time is better spent.

Each grade has a different focus, from building a thoughtful high school foundation in ninth grade to bringing the pieces together before applications begin in eleventh grade.
