Personal Statement Topic Strategy™ Service Agreement
By purchasing the Personal Statement Topic Strategy™, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read and agree to the following terms.
Scope of Service
The Personal Statement Topic Strategy™ is intended for a student who needs help identifying a viable direction for an undergraduate college application personal statement.
The service includes:
Review of one completed Personal Statement Topic Strategy™ questionnaire for one student
Two personalized personal statement directions based on the information provided
Identification of the central angle behind each direction
A brief explanation of what each direction could reveal about the student
Guidance on how each direction could develop into an essay
LaunchPoint Consulting’s recommendation for the strongest direction
Delivery of one written Topic Strategy Report
This is a topic-development service only. It does not include a meeting, third topic direction, detailed story blueprint, outline, opening paragraph, writing instruction, draft review, editing, revisions, final polish, supplemental essay support, or application review.
Questionnaire Requirements
The Topic Strategy Report is based entirely on the information the student provides in the questionnaire.
The student is responsible for completing the questionnaire thoughtfully, accurately, and in sufficient detail. If the questionnaire is incomplete or does not contain enough information to develop meaningful directions, LaunchPoint Consulting may request additional information before beginning the review.
Work begins after the completed questionnaire and all requested information have been received.
Student Authorship
LaunchPoint Consulting provides strategic direction but does not write the personal statement for the student.
The student is responsible for selecting a direction, developing the story, and writing the essay in their own words. All final content must reflect the student’s authentic experiences, ideas, and voice.
Nature of the Recommendations
The two directions provided are professional recommendations based on the student’s questionnaire responses. The student is not required to use either direction and remains responsible for choosing the topic they ultimately pursue.
LaunchPoint Consulting cannot guarantee that a particular topic will result in admission, a scholarship, or any other admissions outcome.
Revisions and Additional Support
The service is complete upon delivery of the Topic Strategy Report.
The purchase does not include revisions to the report, additional topic directions, follow-up analysis, meetings, or feedback on a resulting draft.
Students who need support developing their direction, planning the story, writing the essay, or revising a draft may purchase the Personal Statement Intensive™ or another applicable service at LaunchPoint Consulting’s current rate and subject to availability.
Student and Parent Responsibilities
The student and purchaser agree to:
Provide complete and accurate information
Disclose relevant application deadlines
Review the Topic Strategy Report carefully
Make all final decisions regarding the student’s topic and essay
Complete all writing in the student’s own words
Purchase any additional support separately if needed
LaunchPoint Consulting is not responsible for missed deadlines resulting from incomplete information, delayed questionnaire submission, or materials submitted too close to an application deadline.
