We are Jennifer Wright and Heather Jahr, co-founders of LaunchPoint Consulting, LLC. We work directly with students and families in St. Johns County, Jacksonville, and online nationwide.
Jennifer is a former St. Johns County educator and a mom of six who has sent three children through the college process. Heather teaches in St. Johns County today. Our classroom experience and work with families shape the way we guide students through planning and applications.

Do you offer college admissions consulting in Jacksonville and St. Johns County?
Yes. LaunchPoint serves families in Jacksonville and St. Johns County, Florida, with college planning and college application support. We also work online with families nationwide. Jennifer Wright and Heather Jahr work directly with each family.
My student is in eighth grade. Where should we start?
The LaunchPoint Path™ serves students in grades 8–10 through the $295 College Strategy Session. St. Johns County families preparing for Academy Nights or Programs of Interest can also start with our free Before You Choose guide.
What college planning help do you offer juniors?
Juniors can start with The Junior Year Advantage™ workbook. When your student is ready to build a college list or prepare application materials, our college list, essay, and application services offer focused support. We do not offer a separate junior strategy service.
Can someone review my student’s Common App before submission?
Yes. The $29 Common App Quick Check™ is a focused application review that identifies strengths, significant issues, and priority fixes. It includes personal statement readiness and GPA and ACT/SAT reporting self-checks. Feedback arrives within 24–48 hours after all required materials are received.
Do you help students write their college essays?
We provide college essay coaching through the Personal Statement Intensive™ and Supplemental Essay Support. We help students consider topics, develop their ideas, and revise through feedback. Students write their own essays and make their own revisions.
What is included in the Premium Senior Package™?
Premium includes College List Strategy™ for up to 12 colleges, Personal Statement Intensive™, Common App Strategy & Support™, support for up to five college application supplemental essays as needed, and LaunchPoint Active Tracking with CounselMore family-portal access. Portal access and active tracking begin January 1, 2027. Other package services may begin earlier according to your agreed timeline.
Can we add application tracking to a standalone service?
Yes. LaunchPoint Active Tracking is available as a $199 add-on to eligible standalone senior services, including Personal Statement Intensive™ and Common App Strategy & Support™. It includes CounselMore family-portal access, task and deadline organization, progress checks, and personalized reminders. Access and tracking begin January 1, 2027. The check-in schedule and service end date are confirmed during onboarding. Families remain responsible for verifying requirements and submitting applications and materials on time.
Does this complement my student’s school counselor?
Yes. LaunchPoint provides individualized college planning, essay coaching, and application support that complements the guidance your student receives at school.
What if we did not start college planning early?
You can start wherever your student is now. We focus on the decisions and application tasks that still matter from this point forward.
What if we are not ready for a larger service?
Families preparing for high school can start with the free St. Johns County Academy Guide. Juniors can download The Junior Year Advantage™ workbook. Students who have drafted their application materials can start with the $29 Common App Quick Check™.
Can we work with you if we live outside Florida?
Yes. Our online college planning, college list strategy, personal statement coaching, and Common App support are available to families nationwide. Our Academy Nights and Programs of Interest resources are specifically designed for St. Johns County families.
Does college consulting help students without perfect grades?
Yes. We help families understand their student’s academic profile, identify appropriate college options, and communicate experiences and strengths accurately. Guidance is built around the individual student.
